Accounts of a bloody hostage drama

hongthaibusToday’s 11-hour hostage drama ended tragically. Hostage taker, ex-police inspector Capt. Rolando Mendoza was riddled with bullets by members of the Special Weapons Action Team (SWAT).

ABS-CBN reported that seven of the hostages were confirmed killed, among them were Ken Leung and Yun Ying, while eight others were wounded. The rest of the Chinese tourists hostaged by Mendoza are all alive and are now receiving medical treatment and debriefing assistance at the Ospital ng Maynila. The Philippine Government has poor management in handling cases like hostage.. It causes the other country to execute and declare war. If this things happen the Philippine Government would be no more than a chicken dung which is thrown into the lake of fire because of its poor political operations

Mendoza stood up for himself and I applaud him for that. But I do not condone the killing of the innocent hostages.

Sana matuto nang makinig sa hinaing ang mga nasa posisyon para hindi na maulit ang ganito. He was trying to negotiate but he was ignored. Akala nila Capt.Mendoza was bluffing, well, they were wrong weren't they?!

Sana magising na si Noy2, di puro salita lang. Sana one way or the other nag intervene sya as president. The world witnessed the spetacular blunder of the people who handled the situation. It's tragic.

On the surface, this is just a fiasco of averting tragedy in the face of a seemingly ordinary hostage crisis. The deeper aspect may be more gruesome and grinding strong – the failure of the justice system here in the Philippines. When you actually see members of the Police Force doing the heinious crimes against innocent civilians like the journalists in the Ampatuan Massacre, the tortures against a suspected criminal, and now the cold-blooded killing of foreigners, the best legal term there is – ‘Res ipsa loquitor’, THE EVIDENCE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. The justice system is rotten because the enforcers of the law are taking the law into their own malicious hands. The Department of Justice, the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Supreme Court are to blame. President Aquino must review how justice is being carried out in this country or else he may be soon be drained down like the past presidents by the organized groups that seem to be bettter off in running the country in terror than peace.

it's a very tragic incident, yet it's something that happens world-wide, it's not just here.
A mistake of an ex-police should not be carried by the shoulders of innocent Filipino like us. We should all pray for the souls of the people who were killed and pray for Mendoza's soul too. Let's ask God to forgive him, after all, he's just a human. Let's just move on and hope that this tragic incident won't happen again here or abroad.
