Android is taking over the world

Android is taking over the world

Google’s Android mobile operating system is quickly taking over the world. Data from analytics firms International Data Corporation (IDC) and Gartner show that not only is Android growing quickly, it is also eating into the market shares of many of its competitors. Manufacturers with Android-powered handsets benefited from this rapid growth, showing huge sales increases especially when compared to the previous year. From one handset (the T-Mobile G1 a.k.a. the HTC Dream), Android now runs on many other handsets from HTC, Samsung, Motorola, LG, Sony Ericsson, and plenty of other manufacturers. The entire platform has really shown phenomenal growth since it was first introduced about a couple of years ago.
