It seems that more and more women are now getting into the crazy hair colour groove. We could chalk it up to Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj for popularising the crazy hues, but maybe it's innate for human beings to want to stand out and be noticed somehow. Plus, local bloggers have been sporting crazy colours, as well. A more in-depth study may be required to understand the motivation behind an increase in purple, red, and blonde hair in the Philippines, but for now, we can just take in the view and applaud the adventurous.

Unfortunately, crazy colours actually require more effort than the usual dye jobs. You're probably used to doing at-home hair colouring, or even the quick salon job if you have a bit of time and money for a more even finish. With unusual colours, you'll have to bleach hair first, before applying the desired shade. Otherwise, the crazy hue just mixes with your natural black or brown, and it becomes impossible to notice.
Given this, it's not surprising that unusual colours end up damaging hair more often than not. Add to this the myriad styling efforts women apply like blow drying, curling, straightening (with a flat iron), and a host of other salon processes, and you have hair that's more battered than Sharon Cuneta's character in Pasan Ko ang Daigdig.
