Prior to being known as a bridal and fashion designer, Edwin Uy was first and foremost an accessory designer. He created pieces used by many of the country’s top designers for their shows and weddings until exposure and influence from these fashion designers encouraged him to become one as well. Having a background in fashion accessory gave him an edge in making a line of unique clothes notably accented by his accessories.
"For this collection, I mainly drew inspiration from holograms. Silhouettes are quite simple and basic, but put under a different light with holographic effects that were achieved through cutting and embellishment techniques. Whether it's cocktails dresses or gowns, this concept makes you look at each piece and see it as it has never been seen before."
The various brocades and textures gave dimension and depth to his ala patchwork works of art, initially capturing the eyes’ attention and maintaining it with its interesting patterns and rich colors that perfectly complement our caramel Filipina skin.
