Square shoulders, those were the exact words that hit me when I saw Eddie Castro’s holiday collection as he sums it up in four words - trendy, contemporary, stylish and modish. “My collection espouses the richness and glamour of the 80s, zeroing in on new wave couture,” he adds. The men’s polo shirt are intricately detailed with lines and silk sleeves in pale pastel colors such as cream, dove gray and moss green against a black and white checkered backdrop. The women’s collection, meanwhile, revived petticoat jackets with wide shawl collars and square sleeves that reminded me of a football player’s tough exterior. To add edge, the designer adorned the ladies’ jackets with tiger-print belts and sleeves.
