Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s latest flagship device, the Mi 4i, is now in the Philippines.
Announced last April by China-based mobile company, Xiaomi, the Mi 4i is the most affordable smartphone from Xiaomi to date.
The Mi 4i is sleek and stylish as it packs in dimensions of 5.44 x 2.74 x 0.31 inches and weighs only 130g. The unibody design makes the Mi 4i feel more solid and compact even if the outer case is made of plastic.
This dual SIM smartphone features a 5-inch, 1080p multitouch screen display protected by Corning Core glass. In the imaging department, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel Sony/Samsung primary camera and a 5MP front camera.
It has geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama and high-definition recording features. The camera’s quick start-up lets users snap and share images instantly.
But what’s on the inside is what makes this phone a mobile entertainment powerhouse. The Mi 4i It is powered by a 2nd-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor that is suitable for multitasking and running several apps at the same time. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage.

Xiaomi is regarded as the world’s most high-valued start-up with a net worth of $46-billion. It has projected to ship over 100 million smartphones this year, challenging Huawei, China’s largest smartphone maker.
In the second quarter of this year, Xiaomi shipped 19.8 million smartphones, surpassing the 15.1 million figure it reported in the same period of 2014. During the said period, Xiaomi controlled 4.6 percent of the global smartphone market, up from the 3.5 percent stake it held same period last year. It is now the fifth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.
