Katy Perry – The Prismatic World Tour

Katy Perry, who was here in 2009 and 2013 is back in the Philippines for another concert. Her third trip to Manila is part of her Prismatic World Tour. Perry has been in the UK, North America, Australia, New Zealand, and now Asia.

“I’m thrilled to bring the Prismatic World Tour to some of my favorite places in Asia, as well as some sensational places I’ve never been. I can’t wait to take in the sights and the culture, and share my music and meet all of the new fans,” Perry said.

The Pop superstar is known for her funky outfits, lavish concert production, and catchy songs. Her world tour focuses on her latest album called “Prism” which landed on the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2013.

Prism has 13 tracks namely “Roar” (one of Perry’s biggest hits), “Legendary Lovers”, “Birthday”, “Walking on Air”, “Unconditionally”, “Dark Horse” feat. Juicy J, “This is How We Do”, “International Smile”, “Ghost”, “Love Me”, “This Moment”, “Double Rainbow”, and “By the Grace of God”.

The Prismatic World Tour will be on May 7, 2015 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Sam Smith – In The Lonely Hour Tour 2015

Singer Sam Smith announced on Facebook that his Manila show at SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena scheduled on May 10 is temporarily postponed.

“I have some bad news. I’ve been to the doctors today and although my four days of vocal rest has definitely helped. I still have some issues with my vocal cords which need to be addressed. I am having to fly to the USA to see a specialist there and as a result need to reschedule the shows to later this year. This is horrible for me and I’m truly very sorry that I cannot come and see you guys, I hope you understand and cannot wait to see you in the near future,” Smith posted on Facebook.

According to the concert promoter Music Management International, the show is just “postponed and not canceled.” Ticket holders may choose to keep their tickets and wait for the new concert schedule or have their tickets refunded through SM Tickets.

Peabo Bryson

American singer and songwriter Peabo Bryson is going to serenade concert goers on May 13, 2015 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.

Bryson is known for his enigmatic love songs such as “Here We Go” with Minnie Riperon, “Gimme Some Time” with Natalie Cole, “Beauty and the Beast” with Céline Dion (for Beauty and the Beast), “Light The World” with Deborah Gibson, “The Gift” with Roberta Flack, “I Can’t Imagine” with Regina Belle, “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle (for Aladdin), “Tonight I Celebrate My Love” with Roberta Flack, “The Best Part” with Nadia Gifford, “Lovers After All” with Melissa Manchester, “You Are My Home” Linda Eder (for The Scarlet Pimpernel), “By the Time This Night Is Over” with Kenny G, “For You And I” with Angela Bofill, “Without You” with Regina Belle, “As Long As There’s Christmas” with Roberta Flack (for Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas), and “Make It Til Tomorrow” with Sandi Patty.

The R&B soul singer has also recorded with our very own Lea Salonga. Bryson and Salonga sang “I Have Dreamed” for The King And I.

MTV Music Evolution Manila

MTV Music Evolution showcases how music genres evolved. It gives young people the opportunity to learn and experience how certain music styles and sounds transformed over the years. It will be held on May 17, 2015 at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park.

The live music event will feature hip hop acts from both international and local music scenes like Naughty By Nature, DJ Mustard, YG,, Abra, and Gloc-9.

ANOTHERLAND Electronic Dance Music Festival 2015

Electronic music aficionados can look forward to ANOTHERLAND Electronic Dance Music Festival on May 29, 2015 at the South Corporate Ave, Filinvest City, Alabang. The music extravaganza will feature artists like Funk Avy, Ronthug, Deuce, Steal, Carlo Atendido, Ron Poe, Zoe Alfonso, Axell, and Miyuri.

Jason Chen Live in Manila

Taiwanese American pop singer Jason Chen is set to perform in Manila on May 29, 2015 at The Theatre at Solaire. Chen began his career in music by performing covers on YouTube where he attracted a lot of followers.

Chen released five albums namely “Gravity”, “Jie sheng Qian”, “Never for Nothing”, “What If”, and “Glass Heart”.

Dream Fields Music Festival

Dream Fields Music Festival is a dream come true for many music enthusiasts as it brings together international and local artists under different genres. Robin Thicke, the singer behind hit singles like “When I Get You Alone”, “Lost Without U”, “Wanna Love U Girl”, and “Sex Therapy” is coming to Manila for the upcoming music fest to be held at Vista Concert Grounds, Vista City, Daang Hari on May 30, 2015.

Thicke collaborated with artists Pharrell and T.I. for the song “Blurred Lines”. The track became a hit in 2013 but it became controversial when Marvin Gaye’s family claimed that a part of the song came from Gaye’s song “Got to Give It Up”.

The music festival will also feature DJ duo Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed of Tritonal. Their debut album called “Piercing The Quiet” included five singles that made #1 on the trance chart for 3 weeks. Tritonal has collaborated with other artists like Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero, Tiesto, and Armin Van Buuren.

The music festival line-up also includes like Urbandub, Pupil, Franco, Rivermaya, KJWan, March Marasigan, Travis Monsod, and Ron Poe.
