Women and fashion experts agree that the most important fashion advice is to choose an outfit that would make you feel comfortable enough. Sure, it is tempting to shop the trendiest pieces from your favorite brands, but if you were to choose between comfort and style, which would you prefer?
Comfort over fashion doesn’t necessarily mean you should forego trends. But getting both is definitely a bonus.
Actress Kate Hudson is one of the perfect examples of this fashion philosophy. “I’ve had people push dresses on me that are high-fashion, but if I can’t walk or I’m uncomfortable, forget it. Women need to wear things they are comfortable and confident in.,” she says in a TV New Zealand article.
As much as you want to keep yourself in style, here are some cuts and fabrics that you can wear at a minimum
An over plunging neckline is not advisable to wear especially if you take public utility vehicles (not to mention the unfriendly prying glance that you will get from strangers). Unless you’ll be walking in the red carpet, this type of top is a no-no.
I was never a fan of lacey turtle-neck and never will be. With the kind of weather we have here in the Philippines (especially summer is almost kicking in), wearing a lacey turtle neck will just make a person look pretty awkward and that’s one thing you should avoid. But you can still keep this piece in your closet for the cold or rainy season.
Flow-y tube top
If you opt to wear a tube top this summer, make sure that it fits right in your body. Flow-y tube tops usually looks good on skinny people because it defines your curves, thus enhancing your overall look.
Don’t get me wrong – just like you I’m up for some glam and sparkle. But wearing an outfit with sequins during the day can be hard to pull off. The trick is to rock this style on your Friday night parties.
Muscle tee has become one of the trendiest outfits for the past two years. Why not? It’s loose and baggy style screams the “cool” vibe. But this kind of outfit isn’t just for everyone. Those girls who are busty can’t wear it the way most girls do because they need to wear a bandeau inside to cover up their busts. Compared to the ones who aren’t busty, they can wear this only with their bras but would still feel comfortable to move wherever they go, whatever they do.
It can be difficult to wade through many options and actually pick clothes that bring both comfort and style. But here’s one good advice to keep in mind: “Fashion should be comfortable; if it’s not, you won’t feel as confident, and confidence is always the most important thing to wear.”
