Now on its 8th edition, the Manila International Silent Film Festival is the only one of its kind in Asia—a multi-cultural showcase of silent movies accompanied by live music from local and international artists.
This unique cinematic experience will run from August 28 to 31, 2014 at the Shang Cineplex Cinema 2, Shangri-La Plaza, Edsa, Mandaluyong City.
The following countries will be part of the festival: Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Philippines, and the USA.
The Japan Foundation, Manila will be featuring a 1927 film by Daisuke Ito’s “Chuji Tabi Nikki – A Diary of Chuji’s Travels” with live music score by KaapiN Band—an experimental indie electronic duo from Cagayan and Cebu on August 30, Saturday at 7:30PM.
For Germany the silent film “Destiny” (Der müde Tod) has been chosen to be shown during the festival.
