Edu Manzano encourages participative citizenry

Edu Manzano encourages participative citizenry

"It's time we all stood up and do our share . Stand up and be counted. it is an opportunity for us to shout out not only to our leaders for the rest of the world that we have enough and really do want change. It has to be a participative citizenry. We don't live up to the true meaning of liberal democracy. " It was quite a revelation to talk to Edu Manzano, the administration's vice-presidential bet. I nearly didn't want to attend this interview because of the "celebrity showbiz" status. I am not particularly fond of showbiz personalities who dabble with politics.   All I know about him  is "Game ka na ba?".  It puzzled me why someone as "galing and talino" like Gibo Teodoro would get a showbiz running mate.

I am glad I went. Edu Manzano revealed so many facets of his background that is not quite known to the public. It's a good thing that I was "game na" to set aside my initial bias to get to know him more.

What now Chiz?

What now Chiz?

I gave a talk to a big university in Manila last week about the role of Digital Marketing in the 2010 elections. Before I gave my talk, I wanted to get a pulse of who the students would vote for. There were more than 500 students in the auditorium so it was definitely a good sample size. If I were t...

When May comes, will you remember Ondoy?

Quite often it may seem like an epoch ago, officials of the government made excuses for their capability and intelligence when that uncoordinated disaster: the first 48 hours of Ondoy occurred .  Now months later, we’d forgotten what it was like, The Day After Ondoy and the sheer urgency of building our...

The permanent revolution of people power

In the context of our political reality and amidst our blackest night , does it mean so little this EDSA?  Do we even understand what the spirit of EDSA is?

Can social media and blogs deliver the winning votes?

Villar ads on blogs and Facebook are common sight, but as I was blog hopping  last night, I was surprise to see "Manong Johnny" banners alternating with that of Manny Villar . These 2 gentlemen tapping the new media is not surprising though, since both have children or grand children who run their co...
