16 people are dead, 20 still missing, and 30 houses buried after a mudslide brought about by heavy rains hit Boringot mining area in Napnapan village, Pantukan, Compostela Valley Monday afternoon, reported AP .
In an interview by Radio dzXL via GMAnews.tv, ComVal governor Arthur Uy said: “Ang affected, natabunan, is 30 houses. Naka-ready ang medical, burial assistance. [30 houses have been affected by the landslide. Medical and burial assistance is already on standby.]” Uy added cloudy weather may not favor the ongoing search and rescue operations.
Bombo Radyo's separate report on the landslide said that
at least 10 residents were killed, 14 injured and 20 missing as of
Tuesday morning.
