Marvin ‘Marvelous' Sonsona joins the ranks of boxing
superstars Brian
Viloria, Nonito
Donaire and Manny Pacquiao as he
won against Puerto Rican Jose ‘Carita' Lopez and bagged the World Boxing
Organizations (WBO) flyweight title last Friday during the Rumble at the Rama X
in Ontario, Canada.
The 19-year old boxing sensation from General Santos City outpointed Lopez with a final score of 116-109, 115-110, 114-111, according to abs-cbnnews.com.

He is the youngest Filipino boxer to win a world title since Morris East won the WBA junior welterweight title in 1992.
Rob Cruz of philboxing.com said, "for 12 full rounds, both Sonsona and Lopez were relentless and fought a brawl that will go down in history."
Sonsona now has a fighting record of 14 wins with 12 knockouts.
