In an Inquirer report, a staff member of the Pasay RTC Branch 112 confirmed that Arroyo's lawyers filed an urgent motion requesting that the former president be allowed to visit her brother-in-law's wake.
Rep. Iggy died last January 26 in London of cardiac arrest while he was seeking treatment for his liver ailment.
Judge Jesus Mupas of the Pasay RTC will hear Mrs. Arroyo's petition on Friday, when the court is also set to hear the petition filed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to transfer the former president in a regular jail.
Mrs. Arroyo has been under hospital arrest on charges of electoral fraud since November 18, 2011. She is currently staying at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center where she was transferred from St. Luke's Medical Center last December 9.
