Aquino siblings hang out with foreign celebs

President Benigno Aquino III and his sister, media personality Kris Aquino have been reported spending time with foreign celebrities.

President Aquino met with Bourne Legacy star Jeremy Renner during a courtesy call at Malacañang Palace. Renner was accompanied by movie producer Patrick Crowley, production manager Daniel Stillman, and local producer Jun Juban.

The American actor was allowed into the premises despite violating Malacañang's usually strict dress code, by wearing a formal barong over fatigue cargo pants.

The Bourne Legacy, a continuation of the popular film franchise, shot scenes in Manila and Palawan over one and a half months. The makers thanked the Metro Manila Development Authority, the Office of the Executive Secretary, Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office, Department of Tourism, and Presidential Communications Operations Office for “making their filming experience easier.”

“They were happy that they chose to film in Manila rather than the other locations they considered in Vietnam and Indonesia,” said Communications Secretary Ricky Carandang.

“The President thanked them for choosing the Philippines and expressed the hope that this would boost tourism and lead to more film productions being staged in the country,” he added.

Kris and Apl in new beer commercial

Meanwhile, Kris Aquino teamed up with Filipino-American rapper and Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap for a San Miguel Pale Pilsen commercial. Shooting began last Tuesday with the commercial to be aired in March.

“I’m just so flattered to be in a commercial with you, thank you for doing this and thank you for doing so much good of the country,” Kris said to Apl during a press conference.

When teased about his chemistry with the 'Queen of Media', Apl said that Kris was “an iconic lady, very beautiful and very smart.”

“Yes, she’s my type,” he added. “I like her brains.”

Apl, whose real name is Allan Pineda, moved to the United States from Pampanga when he was in his teens. Despite this, he said that going home to friends and family remains his “favorite thing.”

“I’m really honored to endorse a brand which has been around since I was still riding carabaos, and tagging along with my grandfather, planting kamote, tubo, kamoteng kahoy,” Apl added. “You know it’s really an honor for me to endorse a proudly Pinoy brand...a worldwide known product. I’m really big on representing our culture around the world. I’m really proud to be Filipino.”
