In an Interaksyon article, Atty. Jose “Judd” Roy III said that the allegation that he had posted controversial tweets about the impeachment proceedings was a “demolition job.”
"Hindi natin alam sino gumagawa niyan. I’m familiar with Twitter but that is not my account. I’m sorry," Roy said.
The account in question was a certain @one1ron which, according to blog Impeachment Watch, is owned by Roy. The blog alleged that the private account posted insulting remarks such as one saying that senator-judge Franklin Drilon “resembles a garoupa,” a type of fish.
The blog also published screen captures of supposed tweets from the account stating that senator-judge Serge Osmeña showed “lack of knowledge” in one of his statements; and that senator-judge Francis Pangilinan “was inspired by Star Trek.”
Some posts contained profanities and other insulting phrases.
According to a Rappler report, Roy admitted that he owned the photos in the controversial account. The defense lawyer, however, said that he sent an e-mail with those photos and that it could have been passed on to anyone.
Rappler also reported that one of Roy's former students in the Ateneo College of Law referred to him as the owner of the account. In a tweet posted yesterday, Nina Araneta said: “Hi Sir @one1ron, why don't you just stand by your tweets? I thought you'd be the kind of guy who would stand by his statements.”
Other netizens have likewise stated that Roy is indeed the owner of the account.
