“I'm deeply offended that a journalist like Ellen Tordesillas would write an article of lies to sensationalize one's private life. I have never said anything remotely close to what her write up says i did. I believe the public deserves an apology from her,” Lee said in a tweet.
In her article Grace Lee sees herself marrying P-Noy, Tordecillas claimed that the 29-year old Korean personality answered “the full length” when her co-host asked her how long she thought her relationship with Aquino would last.
“Needled further on where she expected their dates would lead to, Lee answered, 'The altar.' She added, 'I’m praying for this,'” the article stated.
Lee – who recently admitted that she is dating the president – branded the article as “very false and vile.”
She also asked Tordecillas to name the source who said the president was offering to provide Lee a security courtesy.
“I would like to request Ms Ellen Tordesillas to name the source who claims to have spoken to me regarding the (Presidential Security Group) issue as this is not to be taken lightly,” she said.
Tordecillas claimed that Lee had an “off-camera talk with a TV host” in which she revealed that the president offered to “provide her security courtesy of a team from the PSG.”
ABS-CBN reported that Lee has already denied the that she asked for a security detail in an interview last week.
Tordecillas' article was published earlier today in Vera Files and the journalist's personal website. The story was also picked up by the Inquirer and GMA News, with the latter taking down the article following Lee's tweets.
Lee, who hosts entertainment segments for some shows for GMA, thanked her home network for deleting the article. She said in a tweet, “Thank you @gmanews for deleting the article of Ellen Tordesillas. Really appreciate it.”
According to the Rappler who tried to get in touch with Tordecillas, the journalist said that “they are doing a 'follow-up' story on it.”
