Two years after the controversy brought about by the sex video scandal in 2009, plastic surgery magnate Vicki Belo and celebrity doctor Hayden Kho, Jr. declared their engagement in public.

Belo said that Kho, who was linked to actress Katrina Halili during the height of the sex scandal, proposed to her in December last year.

The couple did not announce the date of their wedding. The two also chose not to reveal the details of their wedding, as they were still addressing certain complications.

"Meron lang konting mga issue na [inaayos]… mahabang kuwento,” said Belo.

However, Belo's children seemed to disagree with the couple's plans.

Cristalle Henares, Belo's daughter, chose not to comment on the engagement.

Meanwhile, Quark Henares, Belo's son, said he's not happy with the engagement.

"I’m not happy about it. In fact, I don’t think anyone outside the two are. But I love my mother, and value her happiness above everything. So, I will support her,” said Henares.

"I’ll still be keeping watch on Hayden though and if he hurts her again, I think I really will have to kill him,” he added.

Back in 2009, the couple became the subject of showbiz news when videos of Kho having sex with various women, including Halili, broke out on the Internet.

The controversy caught the attention not only of bloggers but of the Senate as well, leading to a Senate trial headed by Senator Ramon Bong Revilla. It ended with the couple's breakup, and with Kho losing his medical license.
