The Department of Health has identified 4 new cases of Influenza A (H1N1) in the Philippines. Two of them, a 55-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were guests at the same wedding party attended by the Taiwanese mother and daughter who upon returning to Taiwan were found to be infected. The other two new cases are a 13-year-old boy who flew in from Hong Kong and a 1-year-old girl from the United States.
According to Health Secretary Francisco Duque, the 13-year-old boy is recovering, but the rest still have cough. In addition, he warns that “[t]he Department of Health is expecting more confirmed cases in the coming weeks due to its intensive contact tracing and heightened awareness among the public.”
